It seems that our Laredo had been leaking rain in the slide out and bedroom and who knows where else. The service guy at our dealer said he had never seen a Laredo do this before. We started making phone calls to Keystone Rv Company to no avail. Customer service said they would have someone call us back and they wouldn't. It wasn't until we did some research online and found www.keystonerv.org, a website not affiliated with Keystone Rv. This website is for Keystone consumers who have complaints and issues. I highly recommend this website to anyone thinking about buying any Keystone RV. The pattern is astonishing.
When I found the website, I found a story by the originator of the website. In his story he listed a couple of names. One of which was Rick Dysler (head of owner relations). We called and left a message for Rick. We seemed to always speak with someone named Brandon Tom. We haven't gotten anywhere with him though. It seems that KEYSTONE RV COMPANY WILL NOT REPLACE OUR UNIT OR EXTEND THE WARRANTY. I have found many other similar stories online. We really didn't want the water damaged unit back, mold only takes a few days to set in and who knows what we were missing. We can't sell it outright knowing we would have to reveal it's history, and no one else should have to deal with Keystone in regards to this issue. After expressing our concerns, Keystone said they would have to get it back to the headquarters in Indiana for it to be repaired properly and to perform the mold testing. We had some trips planned and the lemon law was brought up. Keystone then said they wanted it to be fixed at the dealer". When we questioned the "proper repair and mold testing" they said it needed to go to Indiana again/. This pattern of conversation repeated itself for days..
All in all, I PERSONALLY WOULD NOT RECOMMEND BUYING A KEYSTONE PRODUCT/. I would definitely check out keystonerv'.org before you do". We will never buy or recommend Keystone Rv Company to anyone|. I wish we would have done research before buying their unit;. I only hope to help anyone else. 127deeb

| 1. Written by Terry M. on February 26, 2012 from chehalis, washington, US I bought my 09 Laredo new I have nothing but trouble with thing my problem now is that the floor my 12 ft slide is leaking. Went to rv shop they say nothing is wrong with it, but when I bring it back home the part of the slide gets wet. Then I started to look at the bottom of the slide outside and noticed that the wood rapped in black covering has become soft. Iam hoping extanded contract will fix the problem the contract states covers slideouts. Iam getting to the point after this, just taketo the bank and they can have the headache. Thanks for this form. |
| 2. Written by Jerry on August 30, 2011 from burnaby, british columbia, CA Your story sounds very similar to ours as we recently discovered water infiltration to our slide and rear compartments. Construction errors were found above the wheel wells on the slide as 2 foot section of tin flashing was cut away and exposed the 1/4 inch plywood below the fiberglas and the 3/4 inch plywood wrapped in waterproof membrane. Problem was the water was travelling down the wood panel and over the membrane onto the floor and carpet as there was no protection from above the floor level. Water infiltration in the rear was a combination of trim shrinkage and a half-hearted attempt by a tech to support the rear quarter panel with one screw which failed and allowed the panel to drop exposing the floor and carpet through a portion of the membrane which had been cut away at manufacture. The trim shrinkage was only 1/8 of an inch wide but when I removed the trim I found green algae growing on the trim channel. I realize now that the small opening created a big problem but the removal of two key pieces of protection also lead to my water problems in the other two areas. By building these trailers with the transition line between fiberglas and tin flashing above the floor line it only improves the chances for water infiltration onto the floor and wall. Keystone's response was that they were "not going to participate in any reimbursement". NO surprise. |

| 4. Written by kathytcarr on August 1, 2011 from charlotte, north carolina, US Attention Steve Plemmons , We just got a call from your service department advising us that our month old Laredo 266RL is ready to be pick up . But the leaking issue with the living room slide out is our problem because we should have a flap installed that is an accessory .Why were we not told that when we bought the camper ? Does that mean you are selling a recreational trailer that you know the slide outs are going to leak ? And we were told that you will install one for approximately 750.00 . The back bedroom also has a slide out .Does that mean we have to pay for an additional 750.00 for the back slide? Had we been advised of these optional accessories we would of purchased a different RV. We are seniors and we had to use some of our retirement monies to buy this trailer its been in the shop more then we've had it at home. How ethical is it to sell a new product and your customer finds out a month later when the thing is falling apart? That you have to spend additional monies to prevent it from leaking. This whole transaction has been a nightmare . We are not happy with your sales tactics and hope to get a response from you as soon as possible. Daniel and Thelma Carr |
| 5. Written by Kathy on July 7, 2011 from logan, utah, US Just purchased a 2011 Laredo 266RL. We looked for months and it had the best floor plan. We had traded a 2003 Jayco quest that we never had a problem with any component. The Laredo fridge cycles off and on every 30 seconds. Sometimes works on gas, sometimes electric. I didn't notice it had stopped working for an entire day and lost everything in it. The dealer has had it twice now and says it works for them. I am not happy with Keystone components. Instead of the corian countertops I would have preferred a better refrigerator. |

Didn't notice it until last fall [Sept,2010] & didn't know what it was until May this year. Now it's worse. Keystone told me today that I should have read the owner's manual and checked all the seals. Horse "hit !!! Did your story have a happy ending ? |
| 7. Written by Jill Carlson on May 9, 2011 from englewood, colorado, US We just bought a 2011 Sprinter, the 323BHS. Looks great but we found a huge wet area behind the couch, the AC didn't work and the smoke alarm went off at random. We got the leak fixed (I hope) and the AC works but now it blows the circuit breaker when it is on. There is a leak in the tub that run on to the floor...UGH...it is a piece of garbage. The workmanship is horrible. We call it our Friday/Monday RV...they started it on Friday and were in a rush to leave, finished it on Monday when they were hung over. We've only had it 1 month. We are calling the dealer again tomorrow. |

| 10. Written by Sandi Carolus on September 30, 2010 from mission, texas, US We bought our Keystone Spinter in 9-4-09, new. We took it out for a couple of times for week-end trips. Had a few problems, took it the dealer and things were fixed. In July 10 we did a trip of 2 months, what a nightmare, the slide leaked, found out the roof was not sealed right, so we got fixed. As we travel along and hit bumps thing inside just broke. The closet rod brackets broke, drawer guides broke, the staples on the molding come out, the floor in closet fell out only staples holding it, the drawer in bathroom fell out, agian stapes cames out, the ends on the dinette both broke and cracked the wood, the sofa seat dropped down about 6 inches, no support underneath, the jack outside broke. Can much else go wrong, I understand it is all minor stuff. Keystone is fixing most of it, but the warrinty is done, so what else can go wrong. Not the quailty of trailer we were expecting. |
